Live surf forecast for six boutique-hotel zones worldwide. Real-time swell, period, wind direction, and what equipment matches the day — paired with the properties closest to each wave. Updated every thirty minutes via the Open-Meteo Marine API.

This is the kind of page that didn't exist for boutique surf hotels until now. Most surf-forecast services give you the wave; most hotel sites give you the room. We pair them: right now at La Saladita, this is the swell, this is the wind, this is the equipment we'd bring — and these are the properties within walking distance. Refresh and the page updates with current data.

How it works

Each zone page pulls live data from Open-Meteo's Marine API (swell height, swell period, wave direction) and Weather API (wind speed and direction) for the exact coordinates of the named break. The data is classified into a wave size category (small / moderate / large), a wind category (glassy / offshore / cross / onshore / blown out), and an equipment recommendation. The properties are ranked by walking-distance to the wave, with each property's URL going to the direct booking page.

The forecast is server-side rendered via Cloudflare Pages Functions and cached for thirty minutes at the edge. New zones added quarterly; current schedule is Punta Mita, Margaret River, Hossegor north, J-Bay, Tahiti's Teahupo'o, and the Mentawai Islands by end of 2026.
